Teeth Against Teeth is an artist book exploring themes of grief, anger, betrayal, and comeuppance whilst using a hot pink hyena as a companion and a self stand-in. This book and sculptural megaphone enclosure contain three poems titled, Lunge, Lucid, and Unleash that are inkjet printed on synthetic vellum. The book form is a composite accordion with pamphlet stitched sections that close within magnetic venetian trifold covers. Wrapped in an absolutely gorg hot pink foil paper, this book will surely turn heads!
The enclosure is a hand sculpted and hand painted functional hyena megaphone that is sculpted from Apoxie two part clay, then painted with acrylic paint and sealed using a gloss varnish.
The books are made in an edition of 30 but there are only 3 hyena head variants.
